Hong Kong, China Girl’s Team will compete in Semifinals tomorrow, while Boy’s Team will attend the 5-8 Position Match

The third day of the "2025 South China Group 22nd Asian Junior Squash Team Championships" has concluded.

In the Boys' Quarterfinals, the top-seeded Team Republic of Korea triumphed over the 9th seed Team Singapore in straight sets, advancing to the Semifinals. The 5th seed Team Japan faced a tough challenge from the 6th seed Team Pakistan. Anas Ali Shah from Pakistan defeated Japan's Renshi Makino 3-1 in 53 minutes in the first match. However, Team Japan equalized the match at 1-1 when Shu Takahashi overcame Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen 3-2 in 57 minutes. Ultimately, Abdullah Nawaz from Pakistan secured victory in the crucial third match, defeating Japan's Shunsaku Kariyazono in straight sets and leading his team to the Semifinals.

The 2nd seed Team Malaysia also advanced by defeating the 7th seed Team Kuwait 2-0. The final Boys' Quarterfinal featured the 3rd seed Team Hong Kong, China, against the 4th seed Team India. Indian player Arihant Kalamangalam Sunil won the first match against host player Cheng Justin Hong-chen 3-0. In the second match, Wong Wing Kuen from Hong Kong, China won the first game 11-8 but was later defeated by Yusha Nafees, allowing Team India to advance with a 2-0 victory.

The Girls' pool matches were also completed this afternoon. The 5th seed Team Singapore upset the 4th seed Team Republic of Korea 3-0, securing their spot in the semifinals with three wins and one loss, finishing second in Pool A. On the other side, there was a crucial match between the 2nd seed Team Malaysia and 3rd seed Team India, to decide which team would be the winner of Pool B. Indian player Anahat Singh started strong and defeated Malaysia's Anrie Goh in straight sets in just 22 minutes. Haneesha Veerakumar from Malaysia then tied the next match by beating Anika Dubey from India by 3-1. In the end, Malaysian Harleein Tan eliminated Indian Akanksha Gupta 3-0 in the decisive third match helping Team Malaysia to secure their top position in the pool.
